Alcohol Testing

The Breath Alcohol test determines the current amount of alcohol in your bloodstream by measuring the amount of alcohol in the air you breathe out (exhale).

The ethyl glucuronide (EtG) test is widely used to detect the presence in the urine of ethyl glucuronide, a breakdown product of ethanol, the intoxicating agent in alcohol. This test provides a detection window of approximately 80 hours.

The EtG alcohol hair test is an indicator of a behavioral issue — not current impairment. It measures average alcohol consumption over a period of approximately three months, indicates the level of alcohol use during that time period, and can indicate a pattern of excessive use—a behavior rather than an event.

A basic alcohol urine test is used to determine the consumption of alcohol measured by the metabolites broken down by the body and provides a detection window of approximately 8 hours.
