Gluten-related disorders are a collection of conditions that are the result of a reaction to the consumption of gluten a protein found in wheat, barley and rye 1.

Gluten-related disorders can be broadly divided into 1,2:

Chickpea (Garbanzo Bean) Allergy Blood Test

Carrot Allergy Blood Test

Casein Allergy Blood Test

The Casein Allergy Blood Test looks for IgE Antibodies which indicate an allergic intolerance to Casein, a protein found in milk.  Most people with an allergy to milk will begin to show symptoms early in life.  These allergies may subside as a person grows older or continue for the rest of their life.  Allergies can also develop at any time even if a person has never had any previous issues.  People with Casein intolerance will typically display symptoms of an allergic reaction when they consume products containing milk. Cashew Allergy Test

This test measures a person's allergic reaction to cashew nuts.  Cashew allergies have a tendency to be severe and often cause more serious reactions that other types of food allergies.  People who are allergic to cashews will need to be wary of other types of nuts as well.  Cashews and other types of nuts such as almonds, walnuts, and pistachios have similar proteins which means that it is common to be allergic to multiple types.  Different types of nuts are also processed in the same facilities so there is a high risk of cross-contamination.  This means that other types of nuts or products including nuts can trigger your allergies even if you are not allergic to that specific type of nut.

Cat Allergy Blood Test

The Cat Allergy blood test is used to determine if a person may have an allergic reaction by looking for IgE Antibodies to cat hair or dander (flakes of dry skin).  About 10% of people in the United States have pet allergies and cat allergies are the most common.  Common allergy symptoms can include coughing, wheezing, sneezing, red or itchy eyes, an outbreak of a rash or hives and a runny or stuffy nose.  Because many allergies can cause the same or similar symptoms, blood testing can help a person determine the specific cause of their reaction.

Japanese Cedar Allergy Blood Test

Mountain Cedar Allergy Blood Test

Candida Albicans Allergy Blood Test

This test measures a person's allergic reaction to Candida Albicans.  Candida is a type of naturally occurring yeast or fungus which resides in the GI tract.  Normally, the body's immune system and other bacteria keep candida growth in check.  Most people already have an allergy to candida but it does not cause any health concerns unless excessive candida growth occurs.  Overgrowth of candida can result when a person is taking antibiotics, has a condition that weakens their immune system, experiences chronic stress, or eats a diet high in carbohydrates.  Excessive candida growth can lead the body to develop an allergic response or worsen a pre-existing allergy.  Once an allergy has developed, a person may have difficulty eating or drinking products that contain yeast.  Products that often contain yeast include bread, baked goods, beer, wine, vinegar, pickled foods, soup stock, cheese, dried fruits, yogurt, soy, miso, and yogurt.  Symptoms of candida allergy can develop at any time and may be difficult to diagnose because they are common to other illnesses.  Common symptoms include abdominal swelling, nausea, cramps, hives, joint pain, difficulty breathing, confusion, and difficulty concentrating.

Corn Allergy Blood Test 

The Corn Allergy Test looks for IgE Antibodies which indicate an allergic reaction to corn.  Corn allergy is less common than other types of food allergies.  Those who have corn allergies can find it difficult to avoid products containing corn since many types of processed foods include ingredients such as cornmeal, corn oil and corn syrup.  Even non-food products such as soap, toothpaste, shampoo, vitamins, paint and makeup may be made with corn products.  People who are allergic may experience a variety of symptoms after consuming products containing corn.  These symptoms can include skin rash or hives, sneezing, runny nose, difficulty breathing, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea and in severe cases, anaphylaxis, which can be life-threatening.

Cotton Allergy Blood Test

This test measures a person's allergic reaction to cotton.  Cotton is a fiber that is made from the cotton plant.  Cottom is used in the production of a variety of clothes and other textile products.  People with cotton allergies will likely need to avoid clothes and linens which are made in part or in whole from cotton.

Cotton allergies often cause itching, rash, or hives when the skin comes into contact with cotton fibers.  Depending on how strong a person's allergy is, these reactions can range from mild to severe.  Additional symptoms including watery eyes, runny nose, coughing, sneezing, and difficulty breathing can occur.

Beta Lactoglobulin Allergy Test

This test looks for an allergic reaction to Beta-Lactoglobulin by measuring IgE antibodies in a blood sample.  B-Lactoglobulin is one of the primary proteins found in the Whey of cow's milk.  An allergy to b-lactoglobulin will cause a person to experience symptoms such as rash, itching, hives, swelling around the face or throat, nausea, cramps, diarrhea, and constipation when they consume milk or products containing milk.  Many people develop a milk allergy early in life.  Some people's allergies subside as they grow older but some persist into adulthood.
